In 2016, survey data provided by the Statista Research Department forecasted that the value of the body contouring industry in North America would be around 460 million dollars by 2022.
But what exactly is non-invasive body contouring, and why is it becoming so popular?
What is Non-Invasive Body Contouring?
Before advancements in beauty technology, surgery was the only option if someone wanted to shape or contour their body. Non-invasive body contouring allows us to safely achieve a more shapely, toned body without invasive surgical procedures.
These fat reduction and skin-tightening procedures are becoming more appealing as “surgical-like results” can be achieved without incisions or downtime with very little to no discomfort.
Which Treatments Are Most Effective?
There are a variety of different non-invasive body contouring treatments to choose from. Each has its advantages and disadvantages depending on the clients’ goals and situation.
For example, suppose a client was seeking to flatten out stubborn bulges. In that case, Cryolipolysis is an excellent choice for the spot reduction of fat. Or, if a client is looking to reduce fat over a larger area or treat cellulite, Ultrasonic Cavitation would be the best choice.
The most popular and effective non-surgical body contouring treatments:
Cryolipolysis
Fat freezing involves controlled cooling to destroy fat cells in the treatment area. A suction device is positioned over the target area, and the fatty tissue is drawn into the cooling cup. Treatments usually last between 35-60 minutes.
Physicians who have completed a Cryolipolysis certification may offer this procedure as an alternative to liposuction.
Being a safe and non-invasive procedure, Cryolipolysis is also commonly offered in medispas by estheticians who have completed professional fat freezing training courses.
Ultrasonic Cavitation
Ultrasonic Cavitation utilizes ultrasound technology to rupture fat cells, causing their contents to spill out. Treatments are just 20 minutes, and results are often visible after one session. However, most people will need 6-10 sessions to see the best results.
Laser Lipo
Known as a “cold laser”, Laser Lipo ruptures and shrinks fat cells using low-level laser energy. Treatments are 20-30 minutes, and like Ultrasonic Cavitation, 6-10 sessions are needed for best results.
EMS Sculpting
EMS Sculpting is the only non-invasive body contouring procedure that builds muscle AND burns fat simultaneously. And the world’s first non-surgical Brazilian Butt Lift! EMS Sculpting uses high-intensity pulsed electromagnetic (HIPEM) technology to activate supramaximal muscle contractions, forcing the muscle to adapt and grow.
RF Skin Tightening
While the previous three treatments focus on fat reduction, Radio Frequency is primarily used for skin tightening and anti-aging treatments. RF energy heats different layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production.
Radio Frequency is often combined with Ultrasonic Cavitation to firm the skin and enhance results.
